The opposition APRC over weekend went into an emergency meeting to forestall what close observers said was a potential bout of serious instability after news emerged that interim leader Fabakary Tombong Jatta, spokesman Seedy Njie and Mobiliser Yankuba Colley have all been replaced.
FTJ was supposed to have been replaced by deputy leader Lt. General MA Bah while one Boo Jarju was named as the new spokesman.

It was also reported that a new mobiliser Jaranding Sanyang has been appointed to replace Yankuba Colley.
The report, widely carried in many social media, generated a heated debate and fueled speculations of a major rift among the leadership of the party.
However speaking to The Standard yesterday, Yankuba Colley revealed that the APRC executive remains the same.

“Yes there were changes announced but it has not stood. Such major decisions need consultations. As I speak there is no changes; the entire executive remains the same,” he said.
Colley did not say what specifically happened but inside sources maintained that there actually were movements to replace the party’s top brass but it was swiftly rescinded by whoever sanctioned it, mainly because of the potential backlash the decision was set to trigger.
