DLEAG arrests house wife with suspected cannabis

Agents of the  Drug Law Enforcement Agency (DLEAG) have arrested a housewife with wraps of suspected cannabis sativa and seven stones of suspected cannabis resin.

The anti-drug agency said in a statement: that “Mariam Ceesay, an adult female Gambian national and a housewife was apprehended on the 1st January, 2022 around 20:05 GMT onwards with one parcel and six wraps of suspected cannabis sativa as well as seven stones of suspected cannabis resin (hashish). She was arrested in Bundung by DLEAG’s Bundung field office.”

The agency went on to  disclose that one Demba Jobe was also arrested by DLEAG’s Serrekunda field office with 20 stones of suspected hashish and 36 stones of ecstasy. He was nabbed on 31st December 2021 at Kololi.

“Another adult male Gambian was also arrested at Kololi on the 31st December 2021, with 6 small bundles and 18 parcels of suspected cannabis sativa. 40-year old Lamin Bajo was arrested by DLEAG’s Serrekunda field office,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, the statement continued that: “In the West Coast Region, DLEAG’s Sanyang field office took into custody one Mustapha, an adult male Gambian and a resident of Sukuta Jola Kunda on charges of being in possession of a prohibited drug. 

He was arrested in Sukuta on 1st January 2022 around 03:13 GMT onwards with four parcels and 41 wraps of suspected cannabis. All four suspects were taken into custody while investigations continue, concluded the statement.
