Gambia Red Cross conducts First Aid trainers course

The Gambia Red Cross Society (GRCS) with support from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Africa Dakar Office is currently conducting a 5-day training of trainers on First Aid for 16 volunteers drawn across its branches in The Gambia. 

The training is aimed at strengthening capacities of volunteers on First Aid and the trainees are expected to conduct step down trainings in their respective branches after the successful completion of their training.

Speaking at the opening of the training being held at the National Technical Training Centre in Yundum, Abdoulie Fye, Operations and Programmes Manager at the GRCS challenged participants to make best use of the opportunity.

He also called on more females to come onboard.

Fye highlighted that at the GRCS, their goal is to encourage more females to also join the field of First Aid and to have a trained personnel in every household.
