The death has been reported of Boto Manjang, Over 70, a prominent businessman from Gunjur, Kombo South, which event took place in The Gambia, but he once resides in Goteborg – Sweden.
A statement issued in Gothenburg on Monday by the Gambian community in Sweden, described the demise of the business tycoon as a great loss to the business community both at home and abroad.
“Words cannot express enough this tragic loss of Mr. Manjang, who served as the Direct General of the defunct Air Shuttle and Fishing Mall Company responsible for the exportation of fish from the Gambia. He was quite adorable, kind, philanthropic intelligent, and industrious,” Gibou Ngum of Afro Mbalax said in the statement.
Ngum further explained that the deceased pioneered regional integration and re-energized optimism by spearheading the incorporation of the private sector in the Swedish Common Market Protocol as well as advocated for its signing.
Manjang was born and raised in Gungur, in Kombo South, West Coast Region. He was engaged in business both in the Gambia and Sweden where he was a permanent resident. Among his business ventures was the establishment of the defunct Air Shuttle and the Fishing Mall Company.
