Atty. Fahnbulleh (left) has vowed that his family will carry out a “blood for blood” reprisal killing against Cllr. Gbala (right) and members of his family if government operatives were to kill him or any member of his family.
In continuation to series of wild allegations, Liberia
Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) Executive Director (ED), Atty.
Mohammed Fahnbulleh has claimed that his boss, LACC Vice Chairman, Cllr.
Kanio Bai Gbala (and the government by inference since Cllr. Gbala
works for government), wants to kill him for exposing corruption.
Writing a tirade on his official Facebook page on February 15, Atty. Fahnbulleh, who has been accused by staff of LACC led by Atty. Wonder Freeman of siphoning monies from their salaries under then LACC Chairman Cllr. James Verdier), claimed that his children have observed strange men dressed in black observing his home since he made his wild and unproven allegations against Cllr. Gbala, one of Liberia’s young lawyers.
Fahnbulleh had held a press conference earlier wherein he accused Gbala of playing a double game by receiving two salaries; one from the UNDP and the other from the Government of Liberia for being an employee of the LACC.
In response to the perceived threat to his life, Atty. Fahnbulleh has warned the government that he will not be killed without retribution like auditors Barten Nyenswa of the Internal Audit Agency and Andrew Peters and Gifty Lamah of the Liberia Revenue Authority.
Atty. Fahnbulleh has vowed that his family will carry out a “blood for blood” reprisal killing against Cllr. Gbala and members of his family if government operatives were to kill him or any member of his family.
“I came home yesterday [15 February] and my kids reported that two strange men, dressed in black, were at my house junction on two separate occasions.
“Considering the recent past deaths of my professional anti-corruption practitioners, should anything happen to me or my kids, Cllr. Kanio Bai Gbala [and the government by extension], will be responsible!”
“The Fahnbulleh, Massaquoi and Waritay family [should] pay back blood for blood to Cllr. Kanio [Bai Gbala] and his family! The Liberian Senate has written inviting my office to appear on tomorrow Friday [19 February]. I will officially report these strange movements. Keep me in your prayers!” said Atty. Fahnbulleh.
In a television conversation yesterday evening, Att. Fahnbulleh confirmed posting the comments, but said he was not directly accusing Gbala of sending people to his residence. He said it was a precedented event to see strange people going to his residence after exposing what he considers corrupt a practice that is contrary to the agenda of the PAPD.
When contacted, Cllr. Gbala called on the Liberia National Police to investigate Atty. Fahnbulleh’s allegation.
“Atty. Fahnbulleh has lied on me to maintain a job, and now need to continue lying to buy public sympathy. I call on the Liberia National Police to invite Atty. Fahnbulleh for questioning on his lies and to answer to threats he has made to my life, children and family,” said Cllr. Gbala.
Legal pundits also claim that Atty. Fahnbulleh should be invited by the Liberia National Police for an investigation based on his open threat to Cllr. Gbala’s life, and to show proof that the government by implications and ramifications, plans to kill him.
