The Media Academy for Journalism and Communication (MAJaC) in partnership with Dennis Civil Based Organization has on Wednesday 18, November 2020 launched ECSA Project, supported by the Gambia Media Support (GAME’S).
The six months Empowering Civil Society Advocacy dubbed ECSA is a structured project geared towards training 16 community base organization’s in the drive to better inform society on the use of modern tools for effective communication.
The event was held at NAQAA conference hall, Bertil Harding Highway Kanifing.
Director of Civil Society in Development Lars Moller, underscored the significance of the project, in the march towards enhancing the capacity of Civil Society Organization’s (CSO).
The Managing Director of MAJaC Sang Mendy, said Civil Society played a crucial role during the lead up to the 2016 presidential elections. He further added that effective communication is vital for societal development.
The program manager of Gambia Press Union Lamin Jahateh spoke on the importance of the project to better capacities Civil Society’s role for effective communication. He further highlights the significant giant strides registered by the GPU school of MAJaJ since it’s inception.
“Today MAJaC’s impact can be felt almost in every media house and now that MAJaC is growing, it is expected for it to widen its horizon by touching and impacting the biggest collaborator of the media, which is the Civil Society”.
