Nigeria: Coronavirus not more than, 10,000 passings recorded – WHO

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO),
the coronavirus disease is still a major threat and should not be taken lightly. In December alone, almost 10,000 COVID-19 deaths were reported, with increased transmission attributed to gatherings during the Christmas holiday period and the variant, which is now the most commonly reported variant globally. Hospitalizations and ICU admissions also saw significant increases compared to November.
It’s important to note that these figures are based on data from less than 50 countries, mostly in Europe and the Americas. The WHO emphasized the need for governments to maintain virus surveillance and sequencing, ensure access to affordable and reliable tests, treatments, and vaccines, and for individuals to continue taking precautions such as vaccination, testing, wearing masks, and ensuring well-ventilated indoor spaces. The fight against COVID-19 is far from over, and it’s crucial to remain vigilant and follow the necessary precautions to protect ourselves and others.
