The leader and secretary general of the National Reconciliation Party (NRP), Hamat N.K Bah has re-iterated that his loyalty to President Barrow is unshakeable.

Speaking on Saturday at Ngai’n Sanjal in Central River Region during the NRP congress Bah, who is also the minister of Tourism and Culture said that his party will rally behind President Barrow to strengthen democracy in the country.

“He (Barrow) is a real democrat and we (NRP) strongly believe we can work with the National People’s Party (NPP)”, he said.

Bah called on Gambians to embrace and support President Barrow in ensuring that he achieved his National Development Plan (NDP) ahead of the December presidential elections. He stated that the NRP might be the first to declare its support to NPP, urging his party militants to give President Barrow the support he deserved. He adds that President Barrow’s politics focuses more on national development.

The NRP was founded in 1996 by Hamat Bah as part of his intention to run for the presidency. He finished third in the 1996 and 2001 presidential elections respectively. It was part of the Coalition 2016 for the 2016 presidential election in which Adama Barrow was made the coalition’s candidate and he subsequently won the elections.
