Personnel of The Gambia Police Forces recently arrested three men for allegedly attempting to murder two young Gambians boys in Kombo North village of Mandinary, West Coast Region (WCR).
Those arrested include, Yahya Gassama, Abba Demba and Amadou Gassama, all residents of Mandinary village.
Police say the victims namely, Modu Lamin Kanyie and Modou Lamin Dambelly are also residents of Mandinary.
At a recent presser, Inspector Alieu Jamanka, Police deputy spokesman stated: “Three men were recently rounded up by personnel of West Coast Regional Taskforce, headed by Chief Inspector Musa Nget.”
“The men all from Mandinary were part of a gang that tied up two boys, dumped them into an abandoned well in the outskirts of that village, set them ablaze before they were removed and taken to the river to be killed.
He added that, later on the police fortunately arrested the alleged criminals including ring leader, Yahya Gassama.
Inspector Jamanka further confirmed that all the accused are charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit felony.
He said the alleged criminals would soon appear before a court of law.
