President Adama Barrow has today, July 9, 2018, presided over the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed Vice President, and Ministers of his Cabinet. The new Cabinet members were appointed last week during a major reshuffle effected by President Adama Barrow.
The new appointees all took the various prescribed Oaths of Office, Allegiance, and Secrecy at the State House in Banjul. President Adama Barrow congratulated all the appointees and reminded them of the need to work for the positive transformation and development of the country:
He said: ''We have to ensure that we leave behind a legacy of strong and sustainable institutions, effective laws and the right procedures that will transform our country into a fully-fledged democracy and facilitate social, economic and political development for our people.''
On his part, the vice president His Excellency Ousainou A.N.M Darboe spoke on behalf of the new appointees and assured the President of their commitment and loyalty.
''I shall be by your side to deliver The Gambia you desire,'' he remarked.
Also sworn-in were the new Government Spokesperson Ebrima Sankareh and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture.
