Salford City Named A Gambian Best Player Of The Year

Ibou Touray has been voted as the best player for his club Salford City. Salford competes in league 2, the fourth tier of the English Football League System, after promotion from the National League in the 2018/19 season.

The club announced that Ibou played a keen part of the team at left back for three seasons now, surpassing the 100 appearance milestone this season. His game has continued to develop too, with the 25 year old scoring a personal best of 5 goals in 2019/20 in 42 games, and topping the assist charts with eight.

In addition, the club has exercised an option to extend Ibou Touray’s contract until June 2021.

Born in England, Ibou represents The Gambia at international level through his father.

In 2014 Salford were taken over by former Manchester United players Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville,Phil Neville, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt, who each own 10% of the club, with businessman Peter Lim ( a Singaporean investor and current owner of Spanish club-Valencia ) owning the rest while David Beckham also purchased 10% share from the Singaporean businessman Peter Lim in January 2019.
