As we travel on this journey of life there are people whose influence we will never part with, they remain with us until we reach our destination. That is the similitude of Pa Assan Badjan’s influence on some of us. This educationist and wisdom giant who has just fallen was our primary school year five teacher at Tallinding School. He is one of those who played a pivotal role on instilling discipline , shaping our mindset and placing us in a strong canoe to navigate the waters of our educational system. When news of his demise broke in our Ex-pupils’ Whatsapp forum, we were all taken aback, the forum went somber with nothing else except prayers and salutations for our beloved mentor. From Busura, Tallinding and various regions of The Gambia, Mr. Badjan has touched many people in the most crucial early development stage of their lives.

He is a teacher whose teaching sessions were never ever boring. He has the foremost wisdom of inserting well measured jokes and anecdotes into the subject matter. With such teaching talent he was able to capture the interest, concentration and eventually better subject unstanding of the pupils. We will continue to recollect and celebrate his towering contribution to our educational development. Verily a big beneficial tree has fallen and a library is gone.

Our deepest condolences to his entire family in The Gambia and abroad. Mr. Badjan; Busura will miss you, Tallinding will miss you, Latrikunda German will miss you and Gambia will miss you! May the Most Merciful forgive your shortcomings, shower mercy on your gentle soul and admit you into the highest paradise Ameen! Until we meet again on the other side adios teacher!
