According to the President and the founder of the Youth environmental organization activist Bakary J Janneh said the exercise was meant to commemorate the world Environment Day. This year’s theme for the day commemoration is centered on “ECOSYSTEM RESTORATION”.
Environment protection, does not only stop at cleaning home’s and houses, it involves preservation of the forest cover, protection of marine life, beach side cleansing, afforestation, cleaning cities and towns, street and compound tree planting, animal welfare and many more.
It’s high time the world that the should take a radical action to protect the Environment. People should change the way they think, Environmental protection should be everyone’s business.
Mr Janneh has called for a joint force in over coming the current status of climate change in the world. ” The cause of climate change is as a result of man behavior. It’s the same man actions and behavior that should be employed to change the status core” Janneh lamented. He has congratulated members of the Organization that participated in making the event a successful one.
Environmental Education head for YAED GAMBIA Mr Ebrima Manjang Wrote In a statement “think it was a success considering the number of people that attended despite it being organized on a Sunday which is a day people love spending time with their families. It’s a big plus for the entire YAED, Kasumai, Bijilo and the entire country. I believe the little done must have sent a very powerful message to people who had visited the place  for Sunday beach. A lot can still be done, we just need to show passion for our environment and consider it as a very valuable asset to our existence on earth. I definitely cannot thank the organisers less for the brilliant idea of issuing certificate to attendees; I believe that’s another motivation for people out there. Personally, I cannot overemphasize how happy I was meeting The President of the Organization, and giving such a gesture to give awards to fellow participants in the cleansing exercise. I’m very much happy with what was done and hope that we keep up the momentum.
“I want to urge the Gambian youths to participate in this type of activities to protect our environment  A clean environment means a healthy life so let’s come together and fight for our environment”.Mr Belly Jah said.
